Huh. Thanks for letting me know that you clapped for the article and then bookmarked it for later. I never would have considered that people do this. I bookmark stuff all the time, but I don’t clap until I actually read it. Why do you clap first?

On a side note, I agree that most of the stuff on Medium isn’t great, but I don’t think you need to write a book to be a “real writer”. It just depends on the stuff you want to write about.
